Somewhere between WEIRD and Hoedown at Matilda's, the
BENTONITES shortened their name, lost a sax player, and got turned on to country music. Not the boring kind you
hear on the radio in the south, but rather a unique blend of country punk two-steps and straightahead country
rockers all with the offbeat lyrics fans had come to expect from the BENTONITES. Additionally, this CD contains one of
the funniest hidden tracks ever recorded - seven minutes of band practice outtakes culled from twelve years of
archives.
Hoedown at Matilda's was recorded and mixed in May 1993 at the now-defunct Dome Sound in Royersford, PA (formerly Iris Sound), by Paul Brown.
Available on CD. Includes poster!
